Have tested microphone on Windows. I am running Hardy on a Thinkpad R61 (pretty much Intel (ICH8) everything). lspci reports it as: 00:1b.0 Audio device: Intel Corporation 82801H (ICH8 Family) HD Audio Controller (rev 03) alsa-info: http://www.alsa- project.org/db/?f=fec11b379fc7501c4c72d3ec16a36b9eb90de5fe Have tried most, if not all of the suggested fixes to no avail. Does not work with the Hardy live CD either. Currently downloading Gutsy because I had it working in there, so this may be a regression bug. Stay tuned. Also downloading Intrepid Alpha 6 to test as well. Have tried installing the linux-backports-modules to no avail either (I think this is what worked in Gutsy), and it broke my Suspend.
