Public bug reported:

in intrepid, the user account switcher panel applet is placed after the
time. this looks quite ugly compared to how it was previously, plus the
change is confusing to people who are used to the (far superior) old
layout of the top panel. if this is intentional, there is no need for
this change and i strongly dissaprove of it.

it also leaves too large of an area with just text and no icons, which
also looks awkward. overall, its a major eyesore. it looks so much more
natural with the time right next to the power button, and the user
switcher to the left of the notification area.

also, the reason why i chose ubuntu out of all of the other distros was
because it works out of the box, its the most popular, but even more of
a reason than those two is because of the arrangement of the panel.
ubuntu had the best panel arrangement i had ever seen out of all of the
distrobutions, and now your killing it. what is wrong with you guys.
this is really pissing me off to be frank. ubuntu has the best default
panel arrangement out of all of the distros, and you %#$@ it up.

anyway, if this is intentional, put it back the way it was. there is no
compelling need to change the default panel arrangement, and it was more
than fine before. dont %#$@ with it. if you want, you might just remove
the user switcher from the default arrangement all together, but i think
it looked fine in gutsy and hardy. whatever, just put the default panel
icons back the way they were meant to be in the final intrepid release

let me know about this situation, please reply
