I can replicate this bug on edgy. The native resolution for my laptop screen is 1400x1050. The native resolution of the lcd panel connected to the laptop docking station is 1280x1024.
Typically I use the laptop with the lcd panel (screen closed). Once I suspend the laptop and then wake it back up, xrandr shows only the 1400x1050 option. Logging out and logging back in does not fix this. However, restarting X with CTRL+ALT+BKSPACE fixes the problem. Dapper did not have this issue, laptop woke up from suspend without any xrandr issues.
