I just wanted to add that I just upgraded from Hardy where I was using the kde4 packages from the special repo and I wasn't having problems, but now that I'm on Intrepid, full screening any app breaks desktop grid. When I move my mouse to another desktop, the full screen app continues to be displayed, except it stops updating, and when I do a show all (Ctrl+F8), X seems to deadlock. I'm using the latest version of NVidia's driver (direct from NVidia) and my KWin settings are: Compositing type: OpenGL Keep window thumbnails: Always OpenGL mode: Texture From Pixmap Direct rendering: yes
I did some experimentation and the problem only appears if the app is in the foreground and is in full screen mode (if the bottom panel is still showing, switching desktops still work). Therefore I suspect that this might be a plasma or kwin bug. -- Desktop grid locks X when something is being displayed full screen https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/277629 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
