** Description changed: + See update at bottom of frame. + + Binary package hint: network-manager Intrepid Alpha 6 with all updates. Mobile is a Samsung A411 which is reported as a Z100 and which I use as a broadband modem with pon/poff in terminal. I've never tried to use NM 0.7 to control it. NM recognised it when I connected it to a USB port, and then disappeared from the Gnome panel, triggering this bug report. But I'm still connected to my wireless router. It re-appeared after a system re-start, and connecting the Samsung A411 brought up a dialogue which let me enter my service provider and connected me straight onto Telstra 3G broadband via the Samsung mobile phone. Amazing stuff. + + When I switched wireless back on while 3G was still connected, and + disconnected 3G, I couldn't connect to the Net until I re-identified my + particular SSID. I guess that's a feature, not a bug, but it isn't + inconvenient anyway.
