[Bug 61084] Re: extension file installed in wrong directory, doesn't work

line 18 in debian/rules states the wrong version, it should be

                --with-epiphany-version=2.16

Unfortunately, the gwget package still does not even build at all. I am
not sure if this is related, but I am trying to investigate.
