Public bug reported:
I can only properly shutdown my Dell Inspiron 8600 on edgy if I disable
the usplash in the menu.lst. If usplash is enabled the screen gets white
and the laptop does not shut down. This nearly burnt my laptop twice so
this bugreport is f*****g critical.
