After testing, Totem refuses to play DVDs at all, Mplayer freezes and requires a force quit from the system monitor, and VLC just plain refuses to play the DVD. I don't know where this bug report should go if it can't be narrowed further. It did crash Totem when totem tries to autoplay (will attach crash report below).
