This improvement would be significantly useful to us for resolving some
odd issues with firefox/thunderbird not always being able to understand
GVFS mounts.

As I understand it, when the upstream TODO is completed, it will mean
that:

 * launching any file from a GVFS mount will call the appropriate handler with 
a local ~/.gvfs/ path
 * opening/saving any file using a gtk file requestor on a GVFS mount will 
return a local ~/.gvfs/ path

(and for applications that are GVFS-aware, they can then have these
.gvfs paths turned into native GVFS URIs)
