Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: alsa-base

There is a bug with oss emulation using alsa. The /dev/dsp* are symbolic
links to themselves

nctlin:/etc> ls -l /dev/dsp*
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 2006-07-06 18:22 /dev/dsp -> dsp
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 4 2006-07-06 18:22 /dev/dsp1 -> dsp1

I've had a look at /etc/init.d/udev script, and those files seem to be
created by udevplug. I report this bug to alsa, but perhaps it belongs
more to udev. I've two sound card. Alsa sound playback works fine.

This computer has been upgraded from a debian sarge to a ubuntu breezy,
perhaps the problem is related to that.

Thanks,
