I recently got Asus M50VM-AS023C laptop and installed the latest beta of Intrepid on it. Sound didn't work out of the box but adding "options snd-hda-intel model=3stack-dig" to /etc/modprobe.d/alsa-base did the trick. Sound works now with all the latest updates pulled in and after a reboot.
