I'm using the current intrepid beta, with kernel 2.6.27-5-generic, on a Gateway T-1616 with dual-core amd64 processor and an integrated RTL8187b. I have no problem when I'm close to a wireless router, but if I'm far away I need to manually adjust the rate or the connection will drop.
This is a new problem with 2.6.27. The new kernel in many ways supports this hardware better than cuervo's hacks, but cuervo's solution didn't drop connections like this. Naturally, neither does Realtek's Windows driver. -- rtl8187 drops connection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/182473 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
