*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 178895 ***
    https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/178895

** Summary changed:

- [Hardy] audacity fails to playback a sound file due to no device
+ Windows Vista: audacity fails to playback a sound file due to no device

** Description changed:

- Whenever I try and playback a file I load into Audacity on Hardy it
- gives me an error that there is no output device attached or the sample
- rate is wrong. When I went into preferences I found that there weren't
- any options for an output device and that the sample rate was correct,
- this issue maybe because of Pulse Audio.
+ I have been reading all of these posts and they seem to be helpful (like
+ disabling "jack") but for the laymen out there, can someone give a step-
+ by-step on how to disable jack for Vista. Here are my specs: Realtek
+ High Definition Audio, Realtek Semiconductor Corp. 1/15/2008
+ v6.0.1.5548 microsoft windows hardware compatibility publisher
+
+ Does this hardware even support "What U Hear" audio, because again, my
+ recording box is blank.
+
+ Thanks!
