STEPS TO REPRODUCE (hibernate)
0. prepare a swap partition and add "resume=/dev/sda5" to /boot/grub/menu.lst
1. Reboot and login
2. Choose "Hibernate Computer" from the KDE menu
(Computer shuts down)
3. push the power button
BIOS splash screen, then it hangs. I need to unplug the power cord
for it to wake up properly, but when it does the session is
restored from disk and appears to be functioning.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE (suspend)
1. Choose "Suspend Computer" from the KDE menu
(Computer shut down)
2. push the power button
BIOS splash screen, then it restores the session (mostly, I needed
to type Ctrl+Alt+F7 to have the screen "refreshed").
However, the system is not functioning properly. Some files are
reported as missing even though after rebooting they are there -
some part of the file system or hard disk has not woken up
correctly - this leads all sort of strange errors of course...
