The above bug 'crashed' my machine. In fact, it crashed my dektop. The GUI desktop wont load and the log file report says 'screens not found'. This is related to Xorg and is infinitely frustrating. Thank God i had my machine double-booted with Ubuntu 8.04. Instead of implementing the solutions i got of the net, which needed a lot of hacking, i just backed up the partition and re-loaded Ubuntu 7.10. i need that distribution because it works well with my netbeans, unlike 8.04 that seems to have errors with Swing/SWT in netbeans.
