*** This bug is a security vulnerability *** Public security bug reported:
I upgraded to 8.10 (beta at the moment) and then checked what else was running... guidance-power-manager was installed (not kde-guidance- powermanager!) so I apt-get removed it. Result: on suspend (either running /usr/sbin/pm-suspend, pushing the power button which is assigned to suspend by kpowersave, or selecting suspend to ram in kpowersave) lock the screen, even though that option is set in kpowersave. kpowersave shows the message that it's suspending in all three cases as well. Expectation: screen is locked on resume. The Screensaver is set to auto, nothing else in particular configured. Implication is, that anyone who wakes up the computer gets access to whatever's open. ** Affects: kpowersave (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Visibility changed to: Public -- kpowersave does not lock screen on suspend https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/283315 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
