Public bug reported:
no way to execute ati-driver-installer-8-9-x86.x86_64.run apparentltly not
compatible with proposed kernel ; this is what I get $
./ati-driver-installer-8-9-x86.x86_64.run
Created directory fglrx-install.Yn7109

All this worked fine with Hardy and kernel 2.6.24.19-generic
