I tried removing everything usb until the login screen, but it still doesn't work. Something interesting though... sometimes I can use my usb keyboard to navigate the grub screen, but most of the time i need to revert back to the PS/2 keyboard. Don't know if that has anything to do with this. The grub issue has been going on for some time though.
