This is the gpm.log. I started the computer without battery (everything
fine, it is not shown in the panel's power manager icon. Then I plugged
the battery and unplugged it (without detaching the power supply cable).
Now the battery is shown as present in the icon but says:

Computer is running on AC power
Laptop battery 10 minutes until charged (98%)
