Thanks James, Upstream haven't been publishing changelogs for hulahop (just indicating bugs fixed in release announcements) - I'll ask them to do so. Based on the git logs the changes between 0.4.1 (the previous version) and 0.4.6 are all bug fixes, not new features, but I couldn't tell which version specifically fixed the issue from the git logs - testing showed that it works with the latest stable release.
I'll use the .diff.gz method next time for a new upstream revision.
