My CPU usage does go up to 50-60% on each core when I scroll with a
fixed image on screen. When there's no such image, the scrolling goes by
without any noticeable increase in CPU usage. It's much better than
before now, at least it's usable, previously it was hell. But now I can
actually smooth scroll, even though it's jerky and the CPU usage goes so
high.

Jean-Christophe: I have only downloaded all the updates that came in and
I only remember the kernel, some hal, some dbus. Sorry, is there some
way I can retrieve a log of all the updates that I have performed in the
last few days? Perhaps that will help.
