Ubuntu's inability to support the Soundblaster X-Fi soundcards properly is perhaps one of the most egregious failings of the OS.
Think about it - the people who actually care enough about their PC sound experience to buy a top-of-the-line card are the ones who are hosed! People with integrated MB sound or who might not really care about having the best audio experience have support just fine. What's wrong with this picture???
