Hi all,

I've also noticed this bug, it affects at least ppc, sparc, hppa.

It's also affecting xvfb obviously.

Milestoning for intrepid.

Cheers

** Changed in: xorg-server (Ubuntu)
   Importance: Undecided => High
       Target: None => ubuntu-8.10

** Summary changed:

- [regression, intrepid] X11 stopped working with "No core keyboard" and
"failed to initialize core devices"
+ [regression, intrepid] Xorg servers broken "No core keyboard" and "failed to
initialize core devices"

** Description changed:

- Binary package hint: xorg
-
- after upgrading to todays packages, my intrepid install fails to bring
- up the X11 system with the following error:
-
+ Regular Xorg and Xvfb fail to start with:
  No core keyboard
  Fatal server error:
  failed to initialize core devices

- a few days ago this still worked, alas I don't know which packages got
- updated exactly (I already tried downgrading some which I suspected to
- have had some impact, but with no success so far); any hints as how to
- debug this are highly welcome, since this breaks my primary
- workstation...
+ This is likely since 2:1.5.1-1ubuntu3 and remains unfixed in
+ 2:1.5.2-1ubuntu4.
