Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: kvm

I have at least two guests under kvm, one running intrepid and the other
Debian sid, which keep losing network connectivity, at least if there's
a lot of traffic (apt-get upgrade). Neither guest is configured to use
virtio for networking. They were created with virt-manager, which did
not add that.

If I "ifdown -a; ifup -a" in the guest, they get connectivity back again
for a while.

If I add virtio to the config, as described in
https://help.ubuntu.com/community/KVM#Use%20virtio%20for%20Ubuntu%20Hardy%20guests
, it seems to work reliably. However, that isn't an option for all
guests.

kvm is running on an intrepid host, amd64, up to date as of today. kvm
is 1:72+dfsg-1ubuntu6.

** Affects: kvm (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
