I wish I could help but I finally got tired of the situation and exchanged the laptop with a VGN-FW139E/H which uses an ATI video chipset. It was either that or use Vista until the drivers were fixed, and I wasn't willing to submit myself to that type of torture. I am glad I exchanged it anyways as the ATI chipset is much more powerful.
