Hi James, The error stating "org.freedesktop.DBus.Error.Un...etworkManager doesn't exist" (as it displays for me) is a separate issue, but not an actual problem on Ubuntu. It relates to a sort of flight-mode for the OLPC hardware, disabling the wifi radio. I've logged bug 287028 about that.
