I am running intrepid, but i am no longer running these scripts. Although I do suspect these scripts still increase the launch speed, it's the wrong type of solution. Likely the XML parser should either be optimized, or these programs shouldn't use huge XML files as a sort of a poor-man's-database. (what's wrong with sqllite?)
