I can confirm this problem with a Dell Inspiron 1525 and using Ubuntu Intrepid 8.10 beta. Also, speed and acceleration of the cursor movement aren't "waking up" properly. I've noticed that by just opening the mouse preferences application from the menu, the settings go back to normal.
