Public bug reported:

I had a notification that my system would require restart to apply
changes ( I just got kernel 2.6.27-7generic) on Ibex and I chose
suspend to disk because I needed quick on and didn't care if the updates
were applied. (also suspected that it might crash) and it came up
ignoring the suspend to disk. I had saved everything because I
suspected that this would happen, but still shouldn't happen

** Affects: guidance-power-manager (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New

** Summary changed:

- certain updates ( to kernel?) might make suspend to disk not work -- make
unavailable or fix--crashed on resume
+ certain updates ( to kernel?) might make suspend to disk not work -- make
unavailable or fix--resume didn't occur
