After my last post I renamed the winbind file to winbind.old and tried reinstalling winbind via synaptic, this still exited with the same error. I then marked the package for complete removal and tried reinstalling afterward, still the same error. I'm happy to upload any other config files or provide any other information feel free to just ask.
