I can confirm this bug, on 2 computers, a laptop (DELL Latitude D800) and a desktop, both running Ubuntu Hardy Heron 8.04 LTS.
Personally, I think this bug is very important, because, people who want to make the change from other (proprietary) operating systems, to Linux (and especially Ubuntu), are really discouraged, when they hit on bugs like this.
