I can confirm that Tares comment works. Also for solving the E: client- conf-x11.c: XOpenDisplay() failed messages mpd needs to be added to the pulse audio servers lists. Look at http://mpd.wikia.com/wiki/PulseAudio under " For Distros where PulseAudio access rights are broken " :D
