Yes, it is Y and I didn't set this option explicity. > Did you use one of the other OSs, including older Ubuntu, > successfully on the very same PC with the very same disk? Yes, it is always the same Notebook with the same disk. > Please check if you can update the firmware of this disk. The > updater of PL3507's FireWire firmware requires Windows and uses USB. It seems that I have the PL3507A, which firmware can't be updated. BUT: For whatever reason the disk is working reliable with my current intrepid again with 2.6.27-7.14 altough I see no firewire or sbp related changes in the linux-image changelog between 2.6.27-4 and 2.6.27-7. So for me this issue is fixed, but I think an explanation would be nice. -- i/o errors while writing to firewire harddisk https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/274119 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
