I too tested this issue in my acert laptop (08:00.0 Ethernet controller:
Broadcom Corporation NetLink BCM5787M Gigabit Ethernet PCI Express (rev 02).
The bug happens at around 1/3 of the suspends/resumes and if I do
ifconfig
I only see the "lo" interface. If I connect my cell-phone with a usb cable to
start my gprs Internet connection, nm-applet doesn't do anything and the usb0
interface doesn't appear. If I do
ifconfig usb0
usb0 appears but with no ip (nm-applet still remains in network disabled state).
To resume the normal state of my PC I rebooted it (I haven't tried any
"rmod/modprobe")
