I just wanted to point out that I also tested this by booting with the Edgy LiveCD, specifying
break=break=casper-bottom at the boot prompt, and then doing a: chroot /root nano /lib/discover/pci.lst in order to correct the pci.lst entry for this device. After doing this and finishing the boot process, the savage driver got loaded as expected and the X server also worked as expected. Please also find attached is the generated Xorg.0.log after doing this. Thanks again to Tormod Volden for these instructions. ** Attachment added: "Xorg.0.log after changing pci.lst and booting with the Egy LiveCD" http://librarian.launchpad.net/5111322/Xorg.0.log.autodetect -- pci.lst needs to be updated for the S3 ProSavageDDR K4M266 video chip https://launchpad.net/bugs/72446 -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
