Public bug reported:

At the very end of the update process from 8.04 to 8.10, this message
appeared, followed by a message about not being able to update the
update manager. Warnings about the update not completing and possible
system instability followed, however the machine rebooted. One package,
SQL-relay, had to be manually upgraded in Synaptic. I updated, and a
message about not being able to update tdsodbc appeared again. Overall,
though, both update manager and the system overall seem fine, and
tdsodbc 0.82-3 shows up as being installed in Synaptic.
