Hi, I'm having the same problem with Intrepid on my ThinkPad R61:
$ dmesg | grep -i hdaps [ 74.537569] hdaps: inverting axis readings. [ 74.537572] hdaps: LENOVO ThinkPad R61 detected. [ 74.537575] hdaps: driver init failed (ret=-6)!
