Thanks for reporting this bug. We need some more information, though. Can you
please attach the following?
- /var/log/Xorg.0.log.old
- /var/log/Xorg.0.log
- output of lspci -vvnn
You should grab those files right away after you restart the computer after the
crash has happened (the Xorg.0.log.old could have important information about
the freeze).

Does the same thing happen if you disable the desktop effects?

Also, to classify how "hard" the freeze is, could you answer the following
questions?
- will Ctrl+Alt+F2 change to a virtual console?
- will CapsLock turn on and off the corresponding light on the keyboard?
- does holding Ctrl+Alt+Backspace for a few seconds do anything?
- if your computer is on a network, will ping <you computers ip-address> from
another computer give an answer?
- if your computer is on a network and you have openssh-server installed, can
you ssh into your computer from another computer?

** Changed in: xserver-xorg-video-intel (Ubuntu)
