I don't think it must be invalid. It's another feature request and I think it's a good idea. I cannot see where is the security risk that some people talk about since it will ask you for the password as always. It would only help you to save time opening a terminal, changing the directory and typing gksu/sudo <whatever>. +1 from me. :-)
