Probably should be filed against the xorg-driver-fglrx package if it's a bug against the ATI proprietary package, so changing the package.
** Summary changed: - xorg crashes during startup with the proprietary driver. + xorg server crashes during startup with the ATI proprietary driver (fglrx) ** Description changed: - Binary package hint: xserver-xorg-video-ati + Binary package hint: xorg-driver-fglrx When the ATI proprietary driver is enabled the startup of the xserver fails, prompting to either continue in low-graphics mode, reconfiguring xorg or troubleshooting the situation. The reconfiguration fails every time I've tried it - the only thing that works is to load the low-graphics mode using the alternate driver. My graphics card is an ATI 9800XT. It worked for a couple of days in Intrepid Ibex but then there was an patch to the driver and it began to fail. ** Changed in: fglrx-installer (Ubuntu) Sourcepackagename: xserver-xorg-video-ati => fglrx-installer ** Tags added: 9800xt ati crash fglrx ibex intrepid server xorg -- xorg server crashes during startup with the ATI proprietary driver (fglrx) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/289996 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
