Public bug reported:

Ubuntu 8.10 server edition normal install. On a system with huge disk volumes
over 2 TB with GPT table grub is installed by default by installer system. But
grub can not handle devices with GPT table.
Disk partitioning is correctly working and make GPT table in huge volumes but
during installation procedure in normal mode you can not select grub2 instead
of grub which could correctly work with GPT table. As a result kernel can not
find root device.
I think that adding a capability to select a grub2 package during installation
procedure could help to handle this situation.

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
