Public bug reported:

Hi, first of all I hope this is the correct place to file this bug.

I have installed a fresh Kubuntu Intrepid (AMD64) on a Shuttle XPC
SN72P2 (AM2+nForce 570).

When the system boots there are errors trying to run the bluetooth
daemon and accesing the USB ports:

And I haven't any bluetooth device.

Later on, I plug my RedOctane USB Pad (a carpet for StepMania) and
launch the Joystick calibration in System Settings. Apparently the Pad
is working, as it appears on /dev/js1 and when I press a key the mouse
is displaced to the border of the screen on the right direction:

Then I try to run Stepmania (ok this is not a supported package in Ubuntu) and
the pad doesn't run. It worked perfectly with Ubuntu Hardy.
I've tried to run the old Hardy package from Playdeb (with dirty forcing and a
few ln -s to use newest versions of libraries) as It seems impossible to
compile the sources due to an error with liblua:
https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lua50/+bug/293236

Finally the game works, except for the pad.
I have also tried some old rpms with alien. In all cases after some dirty
hacking always the same result, the game runs fine but I cannot use the pad.

I suppose it's a kind of problem with the USB as I've also experienced some
other problems with the Shuttle PN18 (ZD1211) Wireless dongle. It doesn't work
on boot, and if I try to connect the internal USB manually after boot I receive
this:

The wireless worked well with Feisty and Hardy. Suddenly stopped working
after a reboot with a kernel upgrade on Hardy, and now the problem
persist with Intrepid.

This is a very old bug in Ubuntu with tons of different reports
