I am sorry I cannot reproduce this hangup. However, I can confirm the Google-Earth can NOT run under KDE 4.1.2. That is, it does not hangup again, but it cannot draw anything on the desktop. I tried IceWM, and Google-Earth worked very well. So it is NOT a X problem, but a KDE problem. The similar thing happens when using XMAME on KDE.
