Public bug reported: Binary package hint: network-manager
I'm using ubuntu intrepid on a laptop using sky2 module for the ethernet connectins. Having NetworkManager started I'm unable to connect to a wired network, this the syslog messages connected: Nov 5 09:24:45 nbvolpi dhclient: Nov 5 09:24:46 nbvolpi dhclient: Listening on LPF/eth0/00:01:4a:f5:ed:4f Nov 5 09:24:46 nbvolpi dhclient: Sending on LPF/eth0/00:01:4a:f5:ed:4f Nov 5 09:24:46 nbvolpi dhclient: Sending on Socket/fallback Nov 5 09:24:47 nbvolpi chipcardd[5563]: devicemanager.c: 3373: Changes in hardw are list Nov 5 09:24:49 nbvolpi dhclient: DHCPREQUEST of 192.168.1.253 on eth0 to 255.25 5.255.255 port 67 Nov 5 09:24:49 nbvolpi dhclient: send_packet: Message too long Nov 5 09:24:50 nbvolpi chipcardd[5563]: devicemanager.c: 3373: Changes in hardware list Nov 5 09:24:52 nbvolpi dhclient: DHCPREQUEST of 192.168.1.253 on eth0 to 255.255.255.255 port 67 Nov 5 09:24:52 nbvolpi dhclient: send_packet: Message too long Nov 5 09:24:58 nbvolpi NetworkManager: <WARN> nm_signal_handler(): Caught signal 15, shutting down normally. Nov 5 09:24:58 nbvolpi NetworkManager: <info> (eth0): now unmanaged I'm unable to use dhclient also after I have stopped the NetworkManager service. The only way I have to connect to the network is to disable the NetworkManager, restart the system, and to connect to the network by hand.
