Hum, the bug seems already fixed with the latest updates of Intrepid. I dunno which update fixed the problem 'cause I've not tried to lock the screen since the report above, but it works well right now, without any configuration change.
I attach the lspci -vvnn if useful for anyone, but not the Xorg's log since I cannot reproduce the problem anymore.
