Suspend worked on the login window of GDM, it worked perfectly with KDE,
so, we just kill the gnome-powermanager, and surprise, surprise, it
suspends perfectly well when the lid is closed.

So, just remove it from your session and everything should be OK, never
reboot or restart again... or, well, not that often anymore... :-)
