I have a Fujitsu Siemens Esprimo Mobile V6535 and had this problem I tried all kinds of things with backports etc however when I finally looked at this: http://madwifi-project.org/ticket/1192 and then download the latest HAL version. Followed http://madwifi-project.org/wiki/UserDocs/FirstTimeHowTo to install it and, voilà, after a restart it worked again :-)
