Public bug reported: Binary package hint: acpi-support
Problem: Can't change LCD brightness via Fn Keys Fn key presses are detected: Although the gnome pop-up for brightness adjustment pops-up and increases/decreases matching the pressing of the increase/decrease brightness keys, no change in brightness happens. Running the brightness acpi scripts directly change the brightness. I can change the LCD brightness manually by running one of the following: /etc/acpi/sonybright.sh down /etc/acpi/sonybright.sh up I'm running Ubuntu 8.10, acpi-support version is 0.114 ** Affects: acpi-support (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: Binary package hint: acpi-support Problem: Can't change LCD brightness via Fn Keys - - Fn key presses are detected: the gnome pop-up for brightness adjustment - pops-up and increases/decreases matching the pressing of the - increase/decrease brightness keys. + Fn key presses are detected: Although the gnome pop-up for brightness adjustment pops-up and increases/decreases matching the pressing of the increase/decrease brightness keys, no change in brightness happens.
