This software does not play anything. It opens it then does nothing. I noticed the other day if I leave it for 10 minutes it really is playing it but so slow that 10 minutes equals 1 second. I have reinstalled Ubuntu 3 times nothing fixes it. I have Run Ubuntu in Live mode, still nothing. I loaded Ubuntu on 3 new machines, clean hard drives, it still does the same thing. v8.04 and v8.10. What is up???. All machines have tested perfectly for hardware. I loaded Windows XP on all machines after the Ubuntu and the video and audio play perfectly...so it is not a hardware issue. One machine is even a laptop. Ideas? I really love Ubuntu and would love it more if it played my movies and MP3s. Thanks!!!!
