Hi, Can you just clarify which installation CD you were using Live/Alternate? I asssume the 8.10 is 32 bit same as your Hardy installation. You might want to take a look at https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingUbiquity if the problem is with the Live installer. Have you tried the Install option on the LiveCD, or the Run as LiveCD option if you only tried Install? Thank you.
